| Northern Over 35's in Australia |

| Northern Region Indoor Sports are delighted to announce they are the attempting to send an Over 35’s team to The Australian Open Championships in Brisbane in early August 2007. The NZ board has formally passed on our request to the Australian national body and we are hopeful of a positive reply. It is a major year for the masters tournament in Australia. The event hosts over 30’s, over 35’s and over 40’s tournaments at the same time. This year Queensland have assembled a super team as they attempt to record a 10th consecutive victory in the over 35 grade.Northern Chairman David Nagel says with a national Over 35 grade not being offered at home this is an important opportunity for players looking to prepare for the Masters World Cup in Sri Lanka next year. The New Zealand and Australian boards agreed last year to allow team from both countries to attend their events. Northern are hoping to become the first team to take advantage of the opportunity and to give our masters a considerable head start in their international preparations. |
